Welcome

Dear friend,

Every one of the women I know who has ever struggled with PPD is ashamed of it. Especially if you are a woman of faith. That seems to amp up the shame to a level that forces us into hiding. We only come out and share our struggle, it seems, after the fact. (I know because I did this too.) We stay isolated and carry our shame in silence. Often we find ourselves, silently fighting this uphill battle while we're trying to hold down a job, run a household, and raise our kids.

I am a believer in Christ and therefore, most of what I have to say about my experience is through the lens of this faith. You should know this if you are an unbeliever. This blog is here to help women with PPD connect with the help they need. I believe God is key to surviving this struggle. Information and knowledge about the illness is crucial as well. Unfortunately, not all the resources I list are faith-based resources, which takes us back to God being the key. Pray and seek His wisdom as you work your way through all the different resources listed.

Again, I am not a professional. I am a friend who has suffered also. And I pray you find these resources helpful.

In Christ's love,
Jen
